On Tuesday, Guatemala was rocked by a series of earthquakes, the strongest measuring 5.6. These earthquakes caused material damage and led to two confirmed deaths caused by a landslide. President Bernardo Arévalo suspended classes in schools and declared a day off in three affected departments. In total, more than 35 smaller magnitude earthquakes have been recorded, highlighting the region's vulnerability to seismic activity.
