Denmark will take over the rotating presidency of the EU in July 2025, with security, competition and the green transition as its priorities.

On July 1, 2025, Denmark will take over the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union under the motto "A strong Europe in a changing world". Presidency priorities include ensuring European security, strengthening the defense industry, managing illegal migration and promoting sustainability. Denmark will work with Poland and Cyprus in a trio presidency, tackling topics such as the EU budget, pharmaceutical rules and environmental regulations. The presidency will organize a street party in Aarhus to mark the start of its term.
