On Wednesday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen emphasized that the aim is not to prepare for war, but to avoid it. Denmark currently has up to 9,000 professional troops and 4,700 recruits in basic training. The new proposal aims to bring in another 5,000 recruits.
