Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of Renault, announced that the Dacia brand could be expanded beyond the current markets in Europe, Turkey, and Morocco, as Renault repositions its strategy towards the premium segment. Dacia's priority is to strengthen its position in Europe and transition to hybrid powertrains, with hybrid engine sales increasing from 50,000 to 100,000 units last year. Cambolive emphasized that Renault will not abandon the affordable price segments, maintaining entry-level models in production. The group's strategy involves moving up into the premium segments, thus creating opportunities for Dacia in the role of an affordable brand. Renault will continue to export models from Europe to international markets, and Dacia's expansion will follow a model adapted to local specifics. Cambolive, with a career of over 30 years at Renault, now oversees the international growth strategy for both brands.
