Andrej Babis, the new right-wing populist prime minister of the Czech Republic, stated that the initiative to deliver artillery ammunition to Ukraine will continue, despite the criticisms made during his electoral campaign. Babis emphasized that the Czech Republic will act as a coordinator of the project, but specified that Czech taxpayers' money will no longer be invested in this initiative. Although the Czech Republic contributed only a small part of the funds, Babis called for transparency and the fight against corruption within the project. The National Security Council of the Czech Republic met to discuss the next steps, and President Petr Pavel, the initiator of the ammunition deliveries, was present at the meeting. Last year, the Czech Republic delivered over 1.8 million artillery shells to Ukraine, representing 43% of the total ammunition supplied.
