Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel firmly reacted to Donald Trump's threats, who warned Cuba to make a deal "before it is too late." Diaz-Canel emphasized that the Cuban state is "a free and independent nation" and that no one can dictate the actions of his country. He highlighted the status of the state as the aggrieved, not the aggressor, in relation to the United States. He declared his willingness to defend the homeland at any cost. The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, accused the U.S. of "criminal" behavior that threatens global peace, and emphasized Cuba's right to import fuel from any source. Trump insisted that Cuba will no longer receive oil and money from Venezuela and called on Cuban officials to conclude an urgent agreement, stressing that financial support for Cuba has ended.
