Marine Le Pen, the leader of the far-right in France, is awaiting a crucial verdict today from an appeals court in Paris, which will decide whether the five-year electoral ban imposed after she was found guilty of misappropriating European Parliament funds will be annulled. This could severely impact her presidential ambitions, considering that the 2027 elections are approaching.
Although Le Pen has had three previous campaigns, this could be her last attempt to obtain the presidency. In the event that the ban remains in effect, Jordan Bardella could take over leadership, already having increasing popularity in polls.
She will appear at the Palais de Justice in Paris, where Judge Michèle Agi will read the verdict.
