An Airbus A220-300 from Croatia Airlines, carrying 130 passengers and preparing to take off for Frankfurt, skidded off the runway at the airport in Split, Croatia, after the pilots decided to abort the takeoff for safety reasons.

The airline confirmed that all passengers and crew members are safe and no injuries have been reported. Passengers were evacuated from the aircraft. A photograph of the incident shows the aircraft stopped at the edge of the runway, with a damaged engine. The company explained that the crew acted according to safety procedures but did not provide further details about the reasons for the decision. Technical checks are expected to be completed for more information.
