On Tuesday, a Turkish military cargo plane C-130 crashed in eastern Georgia, resulting in the death of twenty Turkish soldiers, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defense. The plane had taken off from Ganja, Azerbaijan, and was heading towards Turkey, crashing shortly after entering Georgian airspace. Turkish authorities published the names and photographs of the victims but did not provide details about the causes of the accident. The wreckage of the plane was later located, and witnesses captured images of the plane falling, spiraling and emitting a thick cloud of black smoke, suggesting that it was already partially destroyed at the time of the fall.
