The deadline for appealing the CJEU ruling on the messages between President Ursula von der Leyen and Pfizer's CEO has expired, meaning the May ruling will remain in force. It ruled that the European Commission failed to justify its failure to keep the messages, drawing criticism from transparency campaigners. Although von der Leyen survived a vote of no-confidence in the European Parliament, the case has stirred controversy and highlighted accountability challenges within the Commission.
