The President of the European Central Bank (ECB) declared on Thursday that she will continue to lead the institution next year, emphasizing that "the captain remains on the ship" despite economic challenges. At a press conference, Lagarde confirmed that she does not intend to leave her position before the end of her term in October 2027, mentioning that she does not like to be "constrained."

Although she previously mentioned that she might consider involvement in the presidential elections in France, Lagarde joked that she does not believe this is "on the agenda." The ECB recently decided to keep interest rates unchanged, and Lagarde reaffirmed her commitment to European economic stability.

The next presidential elections in France are scheduled for April and May 2027.
