The September 3 parade will include tens of thousands of participants and hundreds of aircraft, such as fighter jets and bombers, some of which will be on public display for the first time. It will be a demonstration of China's military might amid concerns from neighbors and Western states. The Chinese military will show off a variety of weapons, including advanced missiles, in a 70-minute event inspected by President Xi Jinping and foreign leaders such as Vladimir Putin. Rehearsals have already started and security measures have been stepped up in Beijing.
