Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's support for Belarus in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing. This visit comes after Lukashenko's discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and in the context of rising tensions between Belarus and Ukraine.

Xi emphasized the importance of maintaining strategic communication and promoting bilateral relations, offering assistance for Belarus's development. Lukashenko expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with China, considering that bilateral relations are at a historic high. Although Belarus has allowed Russia to use its territory for the invasion of Ukraine, Lukashenko stated that he does not intend to involve his country directly in the conflict. China presents itself as neutral in this conflict, although there are accusations that it secretly helps Russia.
