The Chinese Embassy in Washington has distributed high-quality images of various locations in Taiwan that could be targeted in the event of an invasion. Beijing has reaffirmed that Taiwan is "an inseparable part of China's territory." The images, taken by the commercial satellite Jilin-1, show strategic areas such as the capital Taipei, Taipei Port, and Hsinchu Science Park, where major chip manufacturers are located, essential for the global economy. Any attack on these facilities could affect the semiconductor supply chain. Taiwan has responded by stating that it is not part of China, and U.S. officials believe that President Xi Jinping could order attacks on the island as early as 2027.
