In the first half of the year, China achieved a record trade surplus of around 586 billion dollars, with exports rising 5.8% in June, beating analysts' estimates. Although shipments to the US fell 16.1% in the same month, Chinese companies managed to redirect their sales to other markets such as ASEAN. However, the external environment is becoming increasingly complex and full of uncertainties, and the new tariffs announced by the US could affect this recovery.
