The Ministry of Natural Resources of China announced on Tuesday the discovery of 225 oil and gas fields, with estimated reserves of over one hundred million tons of crude oil. This discovery is part of a new mineral exploration strategy, which involved an investment of nearly 450 billion yuan (approximately 58 billion euros).
Among the discovered deposits are 13 oil fields with reserves of over one hundred million tons and 26 gas deposits with reserves of over one hundred billion cubic meters. The ministry highlighted the progress in deep exploration, including the development of the first exploration well up to 10,000 meters deep, named 'Deep Earth Tak 1'.
Additionally, the gas deposit 'Deep Sea One' has entered the production phase. These resources are considered crucial for China's national economy and energy security, in the context of international tensions that have led to rising fuel prices.
