China has intervened in the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, demanding 'unobstructed' navigation and pointing to the USA as responsible for the blockage of trade routes.
Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the war triggered by the USA and Israel is the 'primary cause' of the current situation, which affects the security and stability of this essential trade route for Beijing. China, which relies on oil imports from the Middle East, has called for a ceasefire and hostilities to end, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic dialogue. Beijing has also rejected accusations regarding the supply of military equipment to Iran, asserting that it complies with international export laws.
In this context, China reaffirms its willingness to play a constructive role in mediating the conflict, awaiting the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
