
The Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the appointment of new ambassadors, according to a decision by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the legislative body of China. Among them is Chen Feng, who will take over as ambassador to Romania, replacing Han Chunlin. New ambassadors have also been appointed to countries such as Morocco, North Macedonia, Malta, Grenada, and Ecuador. Li Yongjie has been designated as China's permanent representative to the World Trade Organization and deputy to the United Nations in Geneva.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party has begun a series of closed-door meetings to discuss economic planning for the next five years, in a context of economic uncertainties and a crisis in the real estate sector. The Central Committee will adopt a new five-year plan, setting economic objectives for the period 2026-2030.
