After the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, thousands of children in the Gaza Strip are returning to school, although conditions are difficult. Makeshift tents serve as classrooms, and according to UNICEF, over 97% of schools in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed. Although formal education has been interrupted, returning to school offers children a fragment of normalcy.

Currently, the makeshift school offers only basic concepts, and resources are limited. The principal of a school in the southwest of Gaza City, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Schheiber, emphasizes that every student has been affected by the war. Additionally, a school counselor provides psychological support at this school, but demand exceeds capacity.

Returning to school brings both relief and anxiety for parents, who are facing financial difficulties and shortages of supplies. UNICEF draws attention to the restrictions on aid, which further complicate the situation. Despite the challenges, children continue to come to school, and education remains a priority for the community.
