The US Senate confirmed Charles Kushner as US ambassador to France by a vote of 51 to 45. Kushner, who pleaded guilty in 2005 to tax fraud and perjury, was sentenced to two years in prison but was pardoned by Donald Trump in 2020. The nomination received support from Republicans, with the exception of Senator Lisa Murkowski, and Senator Cory Booker was the only Democrat to vote in favor.
