Starting this summer, the Italian island of Capri will prohibit access to groups of tourists consisting of more than 40 people, as part of an initiative to manage the influx of visitors, according to the ANSA agency. Additionally, groups of more than 20 people will be required to use guidebooks without wires instead of loudspeakers, according to new regulations approved by the municipal council.

Guides will be required to wear a discreet identification sign, avoiding visible or unsightly objects. Capri, known for its picturesque landscapes and luxury hotels, attracts up to 50,000 visitors a day during the summer, in contrast to the 13,000 permanent residents.

The president of Ascom Confcommercio Capri, Lorenzo Coppola, welcomed these measures as essential for facilitating circulation on the island, drawing inspiration from a similar regulation in Venice.
