Canadian soldier George Hohl, a technician with the 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, went missing on September 2 in Latvia, having been last seen at the Adazi military base. The Canadian Army announced that he was found dead, without providing details about the cause of death or the circumstances in which he was discovered. Hohl had nearly 20 years of military experience and was deployed in Latvia as part of Operation Canadian Reassurance, which is part of the NATO mission. Approximately 1,500 Canadian soldiers have been stationed in Latvia since 2017.
