The chairman of the parliamentary committee on security, Atanas Atanasov, discussed the risks associated with Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone, following a hearing with the heads of security agencies. Although Bulgaria has received approval to adopt the euro as of January 1, 2026, Atanasov stressed that the critical period remains until that time, with disinformation threats from Russian intelligence services targeting not only Bulgaria but also the unity of the European Union. The intelligence community remains alert to these potential disruptions.
