The new military base will be located in the Kabile area and will include the Bezmer airbase, housing a multinational battle group. The project, with an investment of more than €100 million, will allow the rapid deployment of a brigade and contribute to increasing Bulgaria's defense capabilities. It is part of NATO's strategy to strengthen its eastern flank, initiated after Russia annexed Crimea. The base is 90 kilometers from Burgas, a major port city.
