The British couple, detained in February by the Taliban in Afghanistan, has been released and transported to Doha, following negotiations conducted by Qatar in collaboration with the British government. The two, who were working on educational projects in Afghanistan, were arrested along with a Chinese-American citizen and an interpreter. Throughout the eight months of detention, they received support from the Qatari embassy, including access to medical care. The UK advises its citizens to avoid travel to Afghanistan due to the risks of detention.
