British citizens with dual citizenship will be affected by the new entry rules in the United Kingdom, which come into effect on February 25. They will not be able to travel to the United Kingdom without a valid British passport or a rights certificate, which costs £589. The British Home Office has warned that individuals who do not comply with these requirements may be denied boarding.

The measure follows a change in border controls, which requires all travelers to have a travel authorization, except for British and Irish citizens. British citizens living abroad fear that the changes will affect them, especially their children.

Criticism focuses on the fact that these rules have not been communicated effectively and that maintaining two passports becomes a prohibitive cost. Additionally, some citizens who have given up their British passport due to Brexit are facing legal issues. Campaign groups are calling for a single, low-cost travel authorization, similar to that in Canada, to prevent British citizens from being blocked outside the country.
