At a press conference, Pal Jonson announced that Brazil is open to acquiring an additional 20 Gripen aircraft, alongside the 36 previously delivered, according to a 2014 agreement worth 4.5 billion dollars. These additional aircraft will be manufactured in Brazil, at Embraer's facilities in Sao Paulo. Brazilian Defense Minister Jose Mucio emphasized the importance of this partnership and the success in overcoming the encountered difficulties. Additionally, Brazil and Sweden have agreed to establish a center in Brazil for the development of new systems and equipment for the Gripen aircraft. The 2014 agreement was the subject of a corruption investigation, but President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was acquitted in 2021 due to lack of evidence.
