On Friday, the Hungarian national police announced that educational institutions and a new public institution in eastern Hungary received emails with bomb threats, written in Ukrainian. The Hajdu-Bihar County police have launched an investigation into these terrorism threats, suspecting that the messages were sent from the same device. After searches, authorities did not find explosives in the targeted institutions.

The checks were completed without discovering any real threat. The police stated that they are prepared to respond quickly to any new threats. At the same time, the Ukrainian police reported receiving over 2,000 bomb alerts, targeting various buildings, including state institutions. Previous alerts, which turned out to be false, affected schools in Kyiv at the beginning of the school year in September 2023.
