Former Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, has been released from prison again to undergo surgery for chronic hiccups.

At the request of his lawyers, he was authorized by Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes to leave the prison, where he is serving a 27-year sentence for conspiracy to organize a coup.

In a statement made from the hospital, he expressed his support for his son Flavio's candidacy in the 2026 presidential elections.

"My beloved has just entered the operating room to undergo a phrenic nerve block," announced on Saturday on Instagram the wife of the former president, Michelle Bolsonaro, who is also accompanying him to the hospital.
