The bloody attack on a Catholic church in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo resulted in the deaths of 43 people, including 19 women, 15 men and nine children. The group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), known for extreme violence, was responsible for the incident. The ADF, which has killed thousands of civilians in recent years, continues to target innocents, including places of worship, despite military efforts to combat the violence.
