The arrest took place in the city of Lepel, where intelligence agents discovered that the man possessed information about the Zapad-25 exercises, scheduled for this month. He also had Belarusian and foreign currency on him, as well as a SIM card registered in someone else's name. Relations between Belarus and Poland are tense due to Lukashenko's support for Russia in the conflict in Ukraine. The Zapad exercises are closely monitored by nearby NATO countries.
