The public television station BBC in Great Britain has announced that it is determined to oppose any legal action taken by the President of the USA, Donald Trump, who has threatened a defamation lawsuit following the editing of one of his speeches. Trump claims that the BBC created a false impression, inciting the riots of January 6, 2021, and has demanded damages of between 1 to 5 billion dollars. BBC Chairman Samir Shah informed employees that there is no basis for a defamation lawsuit and that the station will fight against this action. He also emphasized the importance of protecting British taxpayers and mentioned that the BBC's position remains unchanged in the face of legal threats.
