The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain announced the arrest of 41 individuals, considered the "nucleus" of a terrorist organization linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran. These individuals are accused of espionage in favor of foreign entities and of sympathizing with Iran's aggression.
Bahraini authorities continue the investigation to identify and sanction anyone involved in the illegal activities of the organization. Bahrain has been severely affected by the war with Iran, including through attacks on its infrastructure. In this context, the kingdom has sought UN support to adopt a resolution proposed by the US, which could impose sanctions on Iran and could authorize the use of force in the event that the attacks do not cease. Discussions within the UN Security Council have begun, but a previous resolution failed due to the veto of Russia and China.
