The missile fragment was extracted from the Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190AR that crashed on December 25 in Kazakhstan. It was identified as part of the Russian Pantsir-S1 system by an international expert. The investigation by Kazakhstan found evidence of gunfire mainly on the tail, wing and engine.
