Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that this is a proud day for Australia, providing families with greater safety. The ban targets platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, which must demonstrate that they have taken measures to deactivate minors' accounts. Although some children are expected to violate the ban, there will be no legal consequences. The platforms will use age verification technologies, but there are concerns that this will not improve safety. Additionally, some platforms, such as Roblox, are not included in the ban, which has sparked controversy. Authorities will monitor the impact of the ban on children's behavior and will collaborate with experts to assess its effects.
