The Artemis 2 mission has made significant progress, covering 'two-thirds' of the journey to the Moon, according to NASA's announcement on the social media platform X. Astronaut Christina Koch excitedly reported on the observations made from aboard the Orion capsule, highlighting that the Moon appeared 'different' to them and that they had the privilege of seeing geological formations not previously observed. She thus becomes the woman who has traveled the farthest in space. The four astronauts, three Americans and one Canadian, had a panoramic view of the lunar hemisphere opposite Earth, capturing lunar reliefs that had not been seen by the human eye.

The mission will fly over the Moon at an altitude of approximately 6,400 kilometers, providing a complete view of the surface. Although the crew will not land on the Moon, the flyby will allow for valuable observations. Live transmissions during the mission will include moments from the astronauts' daily lives, highlighting the human nature of this space adventure. The Artemis 2 mission is a crucial step in preparing for the return of humans to the Moon and in exploring future missions to Mars, with a planned landing for 2028.
