Two police officers were killed and another two were injured in a shooting attack at a police station in Izmir, Turkey, and a 16-year-old suspect has been arrested.

The attack took place on Monday morning at the Salih Isgören police station in Balçova, Izmir. The Turkish Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed that one of the injured police officers is in serious condition. Images from the scene showed a police cordon and the intervention of forensic teams. The mayor of Izmir, Cemil Tugay, condemned the attack, emphasizing that the city has been the target of militant attacks in the past.
