The President of the European Council, António Costa, stated that Russia would have been responsible for the drones detected at the time of the arrival of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ireland on December 1.

At a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, António Costa emphasized that this incident is an example of Russia's hybrid attacks in Europe. Micheál Martin shared the same opinion, rejecting the statements of the Russian ambassador who denied Moscow's involvement. The Russian Embassy dismissed the accusations, stating that there is no evidence of its involvement.

The incident occurred on December 1, around 11:00 PM, when several drones entered a no-fly zone, coinciding with the landing of Volodymyr Zelensky's plane. The Irish police have opened an investigation, and European officials have reported an increase in drone activities near sensitive infrastructures, accusing Russia of hybrid warfare.
