The purpose of the visit was to assess the situation of Palestinians transferred to Egypt for treatment and to observe the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, severely affected by the Israeli offensive. During the visit, Jolie spoke with authorities, Red Cross workers, and truck drivers transporting aid. Human rights organizations have reported that the entry of aid into Gaza remains insufficient due to the Israeli blockade, despite the ceasefire agreement. Angelina Jolie, known for her humanitarian work, was a special envoy for UNHCR from 2012 to 2022 and continues to address humanitarian issues on social media. Since the beginning of the Israeli attacks, the death toll in Gaza has exceeded 71,000, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
