The British Prime Minister Andy Burnham will receive Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday, the first foreign leader he meets since taking office. Zelensky comes with the proposal of a "drone agreement" between Kyiv and London, seeking support for air defense.
The meeting will take place at a naval base, where the two leaders will discuss with Ukrainian and British military personnel involved in combat exercises against naval mines. Zelensky emphasized the need for a consistent agreement on drones and proposed a drone manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. Additionally, London will announce that it will grant Ukraine intellectual property rights over the electronic jamming system "Stone Cloak," which will allow Kyiv to produce this system on a large scale.
This is Andy Burnham's first significant diplomatic engagement after a week dedicated to domestic issues. Zelensky has visited the United Kingdom six times since February 2022, and Burnham reaffirms his support for Ukraine.
