Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former Secretary General of NATO, stated that the Alliance is facing the most serious crisis in its history, caused by Donald Trump's threats regarding Greenland. Rasmussen emphasizes that Europe must abandon "flattery" and adopt a firmer stance, as Trump respects only strength and unity. He believes that the current crisis affects not only NATO but also the transatlantic community and the post-1945 international order.

Rasmussen warns that Trump's attacks on Greenland could lead to the end of NATO and distract attention from the real threat posed by the war in Ukraine. He also suggests a constructive dialogue between Denmark and the USA to address issues related to Greenland, but emphasizes that the island is not for sale. In conclusion, he calls for a united and firm strategy in relations with Washington to strengthen NATO.
