Amazon announced on Tuesday a significant reduction in referral fees for sellers of cheap clothing, considered one of the largest in the company's history. The fees for clothing and accessories will decrease from 7% to 5% for products priced up to 15 euros or pounds, and for items between 15 and 20 euros or pounds, the fee will be reduced from 15% to 10%.
These changes will take effect on December 15. Amazon emphasizes that these reductions are part of its efforts to pass savings onto its selling partners. In comparison, Shein, a growing competitor, charges higher fees but offers incentives for new sellers. Additionally, Amazon will reduce fees for home products and will lower order processing fees in several European countries, starting from February 1.
