The nationalist party of Prime Minister Albin Kurti has obtained more than half of the votes cast in the elections on Sunday, paving the way for the formation of a new government after a political deadlock that lasted a year and paralyzed parliament and delayed international funding.
Kurti's party received nearly 50% of the votes, well ahead of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (21%) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (almost 14%), according to electoral authorities, after the majority of votes were counted.
