Al-Qaeda publicly documents strategy: a major global conflict would create opportunities for expanding influence in Africa, Asia, and Europe

The jihadist network Al-Qaeda has published a strategic document analyzing the scenario of a major global confrontation, considering that such a conflict could create favorable conditions for the expansion of its influence. The document, titled "The Future of Islam in Light of Contemporary Global Transformations," suggests that the destabilization of the international system and rivalries among major powers, such as the United States, China, and Russia, could provide opportunities for the group in regions such as Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Although Al-Qaeda has suffered significant losses, the organization continues to operate through regional affiliates that adapt their strategies to local conditions. Currently, it is estimated that the network and affiliated organizations could have up to 25,000 fighters, strengthening in areas with weak state institutions. The current strategy of the network no longer targets spectacular attacks but rather takes advantage of regional instability to expand its influence, which could turn Al-Qaeda into a major threat in the event of an international crisis.
