Airbus was fined £6.4 million in the United Kingdom for violating sensitive technology export regulations.

The company Airbus has been fined £6.4 million in the United Kingdom after it admitted to repeatedly violating export regulations concerning sensitive technology, including military equipment.

The fine was paid through a settlement agreement with the British tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The violations occurred before November 2022 and included a lack of proper records regarding controlled technology transfers.

Edwige Hill, deputy director of HMRC, emphasized that the UK enforces a strict regime to prevent military equipment from falling into the wrong hands.

This is not the first fine for Airbus, as the company was previously fined £3 billion in 2020 for corruption in obtaining contracts.
