The head of the secret services in Poland warns about the low-cost agents of the Kremlin and the risks of radicalization.

Rafał Syrysko, the head of the Internal Security Agency of Poland (ABW), warned about the use of low-cost agents by foreign services, which can carry out quick and cheap actions without direct contact.

This Kremlin strategy allows for the simultaneous execution of several small-scale actions, thus camouflaging large-scale sabotage. The change in Russian tactics came after the expulsion of diplomats and the intensification of counterintelligence actions by Warsaw, in response to the War in Ukraine.

Additionally, Russia is recruiting collaborators from Polish criminal groups to mask its subversive activities. Syrysko also highlighted the risks of radicalization of young people in the online environment, mentioning recent cases of planning terrorist attacks.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Poland has charged 82 individuals for intelligence activities.
