The incident occurred on June 1, when, preparing for bed, she fell and hit her back, remaining stuck. Her brother, worried that she was not responding to calls, alerted the authorities, who found her on June 10 in a semi-conscious state, severely dehydrated. Joan managed to survive by turning on the faucet with her foot and drinking the water that reached her face. Throughout the nine days, she shouted for help, but no one heard her. After she was found, she was taken to the hospital and treated for severe dehydration and bedsores. Joan emphasized that prayer and hope were essential to endure those difficult moments. Her case highlights the risks faced by elderly individuals living alone.
