A boy from Illinois became the youngest owner and curator of a museum at the age of 9 years and 340 days, inaugurating the Cambridge Natural History Museum

Anderson Taylor, from Illinois, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the youngest owner and curator of a museum, being only 9 years and 340 days old at the opening of the Cambridge Natural History Museum on August 10, 2024.

His passion for dinosaurs and fossils began in childhood, inspired by a visit to the Staffin Dinosaur Museum in Scotland. The opening of the museum was a challenging process, involving finding a suitable space and discussions with local authorities.

The chosen building has a rich history, having been a former fire station. The local community supported the initiative by donating exhibits and resources. At 11 years old, Anderson is coordinating a fundraising campaign to purchase the museum building, already raising $20,000.

The young man aspires to become a paleontologist and dedicate his career to the study of dinosaurs. This remarkable achievement places him in the Guinness Book of Records, demonstrating that passion and determination can lead to extraordinary accomplishments, even at a young age.
