The SANITAS Federation announces on Friday the suspension of the general strike that began on July 28, "We are not ending the strike, but giving politics a chance to reset and resume negotiations for a new salary law," union representatives specify, adding that the objectives for the upcoming period are to negotiate another draft of the salary law, "more correct, more coherent, and more equitable," with negotiations being conducted with "a political factor with legal decision-making power – either Parliament or a legitimately appointed government."
"Today we can say with full conviction: We succeeded! We were heard! We demonstrated that SANITAS is an organized, determined, and united force. Our strike has achieved its first objective: to make known the reality in the public health system and in social assistance. On July 29, the SANITAS Federation of Romania achieved another victory: the Chamber of Deputies approved an amendment to the Health Law, which allows for the unblocking of vacant positions in Health, obviously within the limits of the approved budget. Also, the adoption of the Salary Law for personnel paid from public funds has been at least postponed. The success belongs to you, all the colleagues who mobilized, who had the courage to act, and who spoke with one voice," is the message addressed by SANITAS to its union members.
