The Cluj Regional Emergency Hospital will have 849 beds, of which 106 are designated for the Anesthesia and Intensive Care (ATI) department, including for pediatrics, neonatology, and major burns. Another 34 beds will be for day hospitalization, and the outpatient clinic will include 71 offices organized into 11 clinics. According to the National Agency for the Development of Health Infrastructure, the operating block will have 22 surgical rooms, including two hybrid ones.
The main building will have eight levels, with a constructed area of 32,000 square meters and a usable area of 177,000 square meters. The value of the execution contract is 1.79 billion lei, and the total investment exceeds 3.3 billion lei, with an estimated execution duration of 40 months.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasized the importance of this project for the healthcare system in the North-West region, and the interim Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, described the initiative as the most important in recent decades. The project will operate on a model organized into multidisciplinary centers, thus changing the way medical services are organized in Romania. Authorities estimate that the hospital will become the main high-performance medical center in the North-West region.
